Italy: 300 Volunteers Mobilised as 500,000 Drug-Prevention Booklets Are Distributed

Milan, 12 February 2026 — A volunteer network of around 300 people has been active since January nationwide in a prevention-through-information campaign, circulating information resources titled “The Truth About Drugs” booklets. Organisers report that the distribution has already surpassed 500,000 booklets, with Milan leading the effort and other cities increasingly involved.

The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign in the context of its support for prevention and youth safeguarding work inspired by the work of L. Ron Hubbard. The materials aim to provide clear, accessible information about commonly abused substances and their risks.

The organisers further point to news eu migration sports-community involvement. They say 100+ athletes associated with Milano Cortina 2026 have added their names to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, backing prevention messaging aimed at young people. According to organisers, sport offers a credible setting for prevention messaging because it is associated with discipline, recovery and mental focus.

Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, stated: “Across Europe, protecting young people is not only a health objective but a civic duty. Clear, verified information supports informed choice and autonomy, and it helps communities limit the conditions in which exploitation can take root.”
